DM News: Census Bureau: Q2 E-Commerce Sales Hit $15.7 Billion

The Census Bureau reports that e-commerce grew 23 percent to about $16 billion in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. The numbers were roughly consistent with other estimates and research firm predictions and compared against about 8 percent growth for retail sales generally. The second quarter showed no significant growth from the previous quarter, however, also reflecting a trend seen in other sources, such as comScore's weekly e-commerce tallies.
