Presidential Campaign Coverage Goes Web 2.0

The app in action

Following the ever-heightening fury of presidential campaign coverage just got a Web 2.0 makeover, thanks to a new app.

WashingtonPost.com's Issue Coverage Tracker makes it easy to examine what issues each candidate has placed on the top of his or her platform by cataloging how many mentions each received from the press.

For example, Republican Candidate Mitt Romney is mostly focusing on Healthcare. Clicking on him reveals 83 mentions about the issue, while Democratic Candidate Barack Obama gets a whopping 302 mentions about the Iraq War.

Jeff Jarvis was involved in the development of the app, which can be embedded elsewhere online, like social network profiles and blogs.
