Premier Retail Networks Adds Fresh Market Stores as DOOH Grows

Premier Retail Networks has contracted to provide its in-store Checkout TV Network to Associated Food Stores Inc.'s newly acquired Fresh Market stores.

Associated Food Stores has purchased 34 Albertsons stores throughout Utah, and will be rebranding them as Fresh Market.

"Because our customers are our top priority, we wanted a way to inform them about upcoming promotions and product specials in a way that would add to their shopping experience at Fresh Market… which PRN’s Checkout TV Network provides," says Dick King, president of Fresh Market. (via MediaBuyerPlanner).

PRN says visitors to stores where its Checkout TV Network is located spend an average wait time of five minutes in the checkout line, and visit stores an average of two times a week. The network is located throughout Acme Markets, Albertsons, Fresh Market, Jewel-Osco, Pathmark, Shaw’s Star Market, ShopRite, and Wal-Mart stores.

Boosting Sales Staff

Last week, PRN announced the expansion its national advertising sales force and support team. The appointments follow the recent formation of strategic alliances with TargetCast Networks and IndoorDirect.

Under the agreement with IndoorDirect, PRN is providing national and regional advertising sales services for advertising and marketing integration opportunities available on The Restaurant Television Network, a digital media outlet in more than 1,050 major brand quick-service and family dining restaurants. The multi-year agreement with TargetCast Networks will also see PRN providing advertising sales services in key categories for TargetCast.

DOOH to Increase 13.5%

The digital out-of-home market is projected to increase at an annual rate of 13.5%, from $2.2 billion in 2009 to $3.7 billion in 2013, far outdistancing traditional out-of-home’s expected 1.4% growth, according to BIA/Kelsey.

Growth of DOOH - which is made up of digital billboards and place-based digital networks - will be driven as the buying process becomes more integrated, making it easier for advertisers to purchase DOOH and reach scale.
