Post Joins Those Requiring Registration

IAR: Washingtonpost.com Asks More of Visitors

Adopting its main competitor's model, The Washington Post will begin requiring site visitors to register their identities, contributing information the publisher hopes will help sell its advertising inventory. This model comes from the long-standing New York Times policy, which straddled the Post's old model of free access and The Wall Street Journal's model of charging for online subscriptions.
