Gannett's PointRoll has partnered with On2 Technologies to add new video-encoding capabilities to PointRoll video units, the companies announced. PointRoll is licensing On2's Flix Engine and Flix Pro toolsets to create and deliver Flash 8 video-enabled online ads. PointRoll said it has served more than 29 billion ads in the previous12 months, and 20 percent of those were video. PointRoll's offerings include expandable, full screen and interactive video formats.
