Pizza Hut, blinkbox Liaise for Low-Maintenance Dinner Dates

In a relationship forged by agency Blue Barracuda, Pizza Hut Delivery is partnering with online film/TV aggregator blinkbox.com to offer discounted films when users order a pizza.

Films available for streaming under the liaison will include "Gran Torino" and "Body of Lies" — enabling those the utilize the service to create a dinner-and-a-movie experience without leaving home.

"Combining an oven-hot pizza with instant video streaming is a quick and simple way to give customers a complete night in with minimum hassle," beamed CEO Martin Talks of Blue Barracuda.

The arrangement applies to UK-based customers, which will be able to choose from one of eight films from a Pizza Hut and blinkbox.com co-branded website. With the 20% discount, film rates start at £2.12; options will include both new releases and old classics, and will change weekly.

To promote the effort, Blue Barracuda will target 18-30-year-olds of predominantly male, film-loving and gamer characteristics. It includes email marketing to Pizza Hut's database and on-ste banner activity with movie clips.

Pizza Hut Delivery customers receive a 20 percent discount on a wide range of films across all genres, including ‘Gran Torino’ directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, ‘Yes Man’ featuring Jim Carrey, and Ridley Scott’s ‘Body of Lies’ with Leonardo di Caprio and Russell Crowe.

Pizza Hut has recently introduced several new items to the delivery menu. It now boasts a tasty selection of Tuscani pastas, along with a new range of delicious pizzas toppings to complement its world famous bases.The link-up with blinkbox.com follows a campaign to support Pizza Hut Delivery’s promotion of ‘Terminator Salvation’. Blue Barracuda created an online game and an online campaign integrating a microsite www.PizzaHut.co.uk/Terminator with email marketing, online advertising, search and affiliate marketing, viral activity and social media.
