The creator of the Million Dollar Homepage has launched its successor, a website that will benefit not only its owner but also a lucky winner and a charity of the winner's choice.Alex Tew earned over one million dollars from the creation of the Million Dollar Homepage, and he plans to make double that amount with his second effort, the Guardian (U.K.) reports (via the Taipei Times). Tew's follow-up effort, called Pixelotto, will sell one million pixels for two dollars each.
One winner chosen at random from those that click on advertisers' pixels will receive one million dollars, with an additional $100,000 being donated to a charity selected by the winner. Tew will keep the remaining $900,000.
Tew explains that Pixelotto is an even better deal for advertisers than the Million Dollar Homepage: "There is a much bigger incentive this time for people to advertise because visitors won't just be looking at the site - they will be clicking on the adverts in order to be entered into the prize draw."
