You're easier than ever
to hunt down
Pipl, a Google-powered people search engine, is slowly garnering social interest, according to webpronews.
The Pipl engine trawls a number sources where people listings usually occur online, such as whitepages.com and social networks, then lists webpages upon which a person can be found, as well as photos and addresses if available.
The engine is still in its early stages so there are a few kinks left to work out, including its inability to search social bookmarking services like del.icio.us.
But perhaps people don't always need a perfect solution. Last week the site placed third in the "Search" category of SEOmoz's Web 2.0 Award, and is receiving favorable reviews from sources like SearchEngineLand.
