Pew/Internet: Data Memo on Search Engines
A Pew study of Internet users in May showed that 84 percent of online Americans have used search engines - more than 100 million people. More than half of those use search engines each day, and two thirds report using search engines a few times a week. The respondents indicated a relatively high rate of satisfaction with search results, contradicting a couple recent studies, one conducted by new market entrant Microsoft. Pew found seven out of eight people said they found what they needed with their online searches most of the time.
