PETA Encourages Online Stealth Promotion

As part of my monitoring of the internet marketing scene I subscribe to a number of activist newsletters. Campaigning organisation such as PETA have proven highly effective at using the internet to increase their publicity reach.

However, it appears that they are now planning to embark on a network driven spamathon, by encouraging their membership to post on message board, in what they describe as a "sneaky, viral and creative way."

I'm sure that they won't thank me for highlighting this, but below is their latest newsletter in full. My advice to them - forget this strategy, it is a waste of effort and annoying. Instead stick to the tried and greatly appreciated "I'd rather go naked that wear fur" campaigns :-)
