PayPal has launched PayPal China, a free service designed for Chinese Internet users, offering them payments in the local currency, the yuan, reports Internet Retailer. The service is integrated with 15 Chinese banks and more than 20 debit cards. The service offers a buyer protection program for purchases made on popular Chinese internet portals Netease and TOM Online, and will offer the program on eBay EachNet, China's leading e-commerce marketplace, beginning September 1. Outside China, PayPal enables payments in six currencies: U.S., Australian and Canadian dollars, euros, Japanese yen and pounds sterling.
