Red Herring: PayPal is sorry, but sorry isn’t good enough
PayPal's PR efforts to assuage angry business users who found their accounts at least partially frozen last week are merely fanning the flames. Rather than refunding fees for those several days during which a system upgrade made enormous sums of money unavailable to owners, PayPal offered to give users a fee holiday during last Thursday - typically a slow e-commerce day. But customers have little recourse, as the one service that threatened to seriously compete with PayPal - Yahoo's copycat service - just started the process of shuttering its doors.
