Parenting Group Launches Car-Buying Site for Mommies

Buckling up ... with style

The Parenting Group, a subsidiary of Bonnier Corp., partnered with auto shopping platform Zag to launch Cars for Moms.

The pastel-colored subsite helps mothers locate new or used cars, find local dealers and get auto financing.

"With 40 percent of families purchasing new cars specifically because of the birth of a new child, there's a tremendous need for a program that serves this market and empowers them with the resources … to make an informed purchase," said VP Greg Schumann of the Parenting Group.

The Parenting Group is not the only firm targeting spendy moms. MTV recently purchased Babunga, which operates numerous pregnancy and parenting sites. Days after acquiring two sites for fashion-forward mothers-to-be, SheKnows bought ChefMom last month.

The women's media site recently proclaimed pregnancy "the new black."

In January, Burst Media launched an online ad network for advertisers that wish to target 'net-savvy mothers.
