The Ecommerce Times reports that Overture Vice President Paul Volen expects that his company's contextual paid listings product to create $2 billion of revenue annually by 2008. Even more astonishingly, he predicts this will be only a quarter of what the companies main business - paid search listings - will bring in. If true, the $10 billion of annual revenue would represent one third of Microsoft's annual take, the largest revenue stream the world has ever seen, except perhaps for the Spanish government's semi-privatized pillaging of the Spanish Main by the conquistadores.
