VC in action
Two ad networks have secured new funding that will allow them to build out the reach and the scope of their platforms.
Overlay.tv has received $4.6 million in its first round. The company enables producers add links to videos, potentially opening the market to link-based e-commerce.
How advertisers might use the platform is a bit vague, but the company doesn't launch until mid-February - enough time for more details to develop.
Open source ad-server Openads, which lets publishers manage ads from a variety of networks for free, has locked in $15.5 million in its second round of funding. The company secured $5 million in VC funding last June.
