AdWeek reports online travel e-commerce site Orbitz is going behind the back of its agency of record, Young & Rubicam to ask BBDO to pitch ideas on a new project. When asked about it, Orbitz release a statement that says in part, "Y&R is still a valued partner and continues to be our agency of record." Orbitz bills about $40 million in media annually. Y&R won the account almost two years ago, pitching against Leo Burnett and Y&R sister shop Element 79.
