Online to Account for Third of Travel Spending

eMarketer: Online Travel Is Going Places

Online travel revenues, already 20 percent of travel spending, will increase to a full third of it in 2006, according to a PhoCusWright report. 2003 registered $39.4 billion in travel spending, up about 34 percent from 2002. One of the biggest drivers for additional online dollars will be hotels, tour companies and others better exploiting the Internet to market travel that is sold now offline.
