Online retail sales slowed a bit after months of maintaining high growth rates. Sales were up just 8 percent during the first week of August, compared with the corresponding week a year ago, reports Internet Retailer, citing comScore figures. Online sales for the week ending August 7 reached $1.20 billion from $1.11 billion a year ago. Online travel sales for the week were up 1 percent, to $1.24 billion from $1.22 billion. According to ShopperTrak, total retail sales for the week ending August 6 were up 5.8 percent from the year-ago period - the 30th out of 31 weeks this year with a year-over-year increase.
