Online sales for the week ending August 21 increased 24 percent, reaching $1.56 billion from the $1.26 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, writes Internet Retailer, citing comScore figures. Online travel sales were up 27 percent, from $1.11 billion to $1.41 billion. Total retail sales for the week ending August 20 were up 6.6 percent from the same week a year ago, according to ShopperTrak.
