Internet Retailer: Online retail sales exceed $2 billion for second week in a row
Even as offline holiday sales have started to lag, the Internet racked up its second $2 billion dollar week in a row. Where offline sales dropped this past weekend, online sales increased by about 4 percent for the past week relative to last year's sales.
comScore reports that about 150 million people are shopping online, spending - according to 2001 and 2002 comparisons - almost 40 percent more than they used to, primarily due to increased frequency of shopping.
