Online Retail Sales Figures Disappoint

Internet Retailer: Online retail sales grew 10% for week ending July 18, comScore reports

Coming off a week when online commerce figures barely registered a rise from the year before, the week ending July 18th registered a gain of ten percent from the prior year, according to comScore. But in some ways this was a worse performance than the previous week, as general sales rose at an even faster rate, according to ShopperTrak. It was the first week of 2004 in which general sales beat the growth rate of Internet sales.

E-commerce sales hit $1.13 billion. Online travel sales increased 29 percent from a year ago, hitting $1.16 billion.
