CNET: Net Publishers Expand Offline
Online publishers are realizing that perhaps the Internet is, in fact, just another medium and maybe, just maybe, there are business opportunities in the offnet world.
Slate and the Smoking Gun are acting on that thought. Slate is partnering with NPR to produce a radio show and The Smoking Gun is creating a couple of shows to air on parent company, Court TV.
So is this multi-channel marketing? Cross media promotion? Integration? Line extension? Or just the realization that there is an entire world of consumers out there who have (heaven forbid) never been on the Internet?
