Online Content Hits $853MM for Q1, Q2

MediaPost: OPA: Consumer Spending Up On Entertainment Online

The Online Publishers Association reports that Americans spent about $853 million for paid online content in the first half of this year. About one in nine internet users paid for some sort of online content. Very popular was entertainment and lifestyle content, which includes music, a category that grew a healthy 78 percent to $182 million. All but 10 percent of the content revenues came through subscriptions.
