eMarketer: Online Advertising Is on the Reboom!
eMarketer pegs 2004's online ad market to grow by $1 billion over that of 2003, hitting $9.1 billion and setting the all-time high. eMarketer predicts ad spending to grow to $11 billion annually by the end of 2005. Currently 40 percent of online spending is in paid search, but eMarketer predicts that rich media opportunities - largely precluded to date in search media - may weigh on that proportion over time. The study said that the online increases will come not only from general advertising growth, but also by stealing money from newspaper and TV budgets.
