MediaPost: Online Forecast Up For 2005
Online media growth in 2005 will range from 10 percent to 33 percent, according to a hodge-podge of predicted numbers coming out of a panel at Interactive Advertising World. The figures reflect a widely-held belief that internet spending growth is starting to plateau. The prognosticators disagreed on spending figures, but they generally agreed on the consumption figures: while online spending accounts for only about 3 percent of all media buys, viewers spend 13 percent of their media consumption time on the internet - an imbalance that is likely to be corrected eventually.
