On Web, eBay Most Popular Brand; McDonald's Least Popular

eBay is the most popular brand on the web, while the least popular are McDonald's and Coca-Cola, according to a new global brand study from web monitoring company Envisional, reports NetImperative. The new "DEX" rankings show how brands fare when it comes to their web profile. Hewlett Packard, Dell and Mini also ranked high in terms of web popularity.

The study also ranked each brand's prominence online, which Microsoft topped, followed by Google, Yahoo, Sony and Hewlett-Packard. However, Microsoft was also the 6th least-popular brand. WalMart also fared badly.

Search engine market leader Google came second in terms of online prominence, but did not make the top 20 negatively or positively perceived brands.
