Web analytics vendor Omniture says it new ActionSource tool will improve analytics for rich internet applications (RIA) by providing native support for ActionScript, the programming language for Flash, Flex and AJAX, ClickZ reports. Developers need no longer worry about writing additional scripts specifically to enable analytics, because ActionSource captures data directly from the application itself.
"Some of the most important projects CMOs are working on center around improving the user experience. They're using rich internet applications to build rich, video-based applications on their website, on mobile devices, and even on gaming devices," Gail Ennis, Omniture's SVP of marketing, is quoted as saying.
