Omnicom Group Acquires EVB

Omnicom Group has acquired a majority stake in digital shop EVB, which does work for Adidas, Kellogg, Wrigley and Leapfrog, among others, reports AdWeek. Founded six years ago, San Francisco-based EVB has 50-plus employees and won two gold Cyber Lions at last month's Cannes International Advertising Festival. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EVB will operate independently as part of Omnicom's Diversified Agency Services group, an won't be aligned with any of Omnicom's networks; CEO and founder Daniel Stein and executive creative director Jason Zada will remain to lead the agency. Omnicom's interactive agencies also include Organic, Agency.com, Atmosphere BBDO and Tribal DDB.

"At Omnicom, we recognize that the internet is a vital and quickly growing component of the marketing mix, and we consider EVB a pioneer in online advertising, creating some of the most engaging brand experiences on the web today," Omnicom CEO John Wren said in a statement.
