Ohio Woman: Yahoo Stole My Picture

Claiming that it's her picture being used by Yahoo in a new-user welcome email, an Ohio woman is suing the company for $20 million, reports CNET.
The woman, Shannon Stovall, noticed that the picture in the email she got after signing up for Yahoo's email service looked like her. Stovall claims that the company is illegally using her image in the welcome email, which has been sent to millions of people across the globe.

Stovall is a former model, and theĀ $10 million of the money she's seeking is designated as compensation she would have received had her image been rightfully used. The other $10 million is for attorney and other legal fees.

Stovall's attorney has reportedly sent two letters to Yahoo asking it stop using the image in the email. Yahoo would not comment on the case.
