Maheu
WPP Group's Ogilvy North America has named internet veteran Jean-Philippe Maheu chief digital officer, reports ClickZ. He's worked as CEO of Razorfish and Direct Revenue.
The newly created position will "lead digital innovation, manage change and work with clients who are evolving in the digital space."
As CEO at Razorfish starting in early 2001, Maheu turned the company around in the height of the dot-com bust - Razorfish's stock price had declined from a high of $58 in early 2000 to a closing price of $1.61 before Maheu took the reins.
Maheu served a three-month stint as CEO of Direct Revenue, a firm notorious for spreading adware and spyware and a highly publicized investigation (and pending lawsuit) by the New York State Attorney General's Office. While there, Maheu substantially redirected the company away from spyware.
