Internet Retailer: Office Depot expects to save millions of dollars with b2b online payments
Office Depot was able to convert its corporate customers - 99 percent of whom did not indicate they wanted to pay online a few years ago - to online payments by first giving them what they initially wanted: online invoice viewing. This seemingly innocent feature led those customers down the devil's path to desiring full online payment transactions. A survey last year showed that two thirds of Office Depot's customers wanted to pay online. The process saves the company - which produces about 110,000 order statements a month - millions of dollars in processing and printing costs.
