NYTimes Revamps Auto Site, Uses Third-Party Content

The New York Times will begin pulling outside content into its redesigned and newly relaunched Autos section of NYTimes.com, reports MediaPost.
The site will bring together outside feeds and content to turn the section into a one-stop shop for car information. Reviews and listings from sites such as New Car Test Drive - and others in the near future - are being integrated into NYT content.

Outside content can help the NYTimes site retain visitors longer, since they likely wouldn't need to leave the site for more information.

Among the features on the new version of the site are a Google Maps-driven dealer directory and a feature allowing people to "design" their car and request a quote from a local dealer.
