Real estate: not like
the good ol' days
DotHomes, a UK-based real estate search engine, launches in the US this week.
The two-year-old service is the industry leader in South Africa with some 147,000 real estate search engine listings. It also indexes about 450,000 homes in the UK.
DotHomes launches with over a million US listings and fresh additions daily. Its goal is complete market coverage, according to The Guardian.
The service searches thousands of real estate websites and links. It also hosts over a thousand video tours.
Stateside competition includes Zillow, Yahoo Real Estate and Scripps' newly-launched Frontdoor — not to mention Realtor.com and Craigslist.
It will also encounter a struggling US housing market. A recent study found real estate marketers have plenty of options online, but little money.
