An unnamed executive told The Guardian that "a partnership is in the works" between Nokia and Facebook.
The partnership is speculated to include built-in Facebook features on Nokia handsets.
Nokia may also acquire a small stake in the company.
The relationship might model Facebook's existing liaison with T-Mobile, aspects of which upset BlackBerry users on the carrier service last month.
In December, Nokia announced a partnership with Universal Music to offer unlimited downloads on some of its handsets. In October it closed video deals with CNN, Sony Pictures, and Rooftop Comedy.
