Shows from Viacom's MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon are now available on Apple's iTunes music store for $1.99 each, including ad-free episodes of MTV's "Beavis & Butthead"; Comedy Central's "South Park"; and Nickelodeon's "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "Dora the Explorer," among others, reports MediaPost.
Michele Ganeless, Comedy Central general manager and executive vice president, is quoted as saying, "Our goal is to be everywhere…TV is not the only driver anymore." Many Viacom network programs are also available on broadband channels, with 15- and 30-second pre-roll ads.
According to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, iTunes has sold more than eight million videos since October.
