News Corp. to Cut Teeth on Social Ad Network

In terms of trend-chasing, proprietary ad networks may be the new social networking vogue.

Like MySpace, Facebook, Google and a coalition of print firms, News Corp. is working on building its own ad network with social networking influences, reports Mashable.

The network will likely tie together all of Fox Interactive Media's online properties, including MySpace, IGN and others. That would include print entities like The New York Post.

News Corp. may also extend the network to other sites it doesn't own.

The network is expected to debut in the first half of '08.
