MediaPost: Interactive Ad Group Hopes To Take A Byte Out Of Big Apple, Other Area Codes, Too
Filling a recently-created void, several New York City online executives launched a new interactive trade group, called 212. The group, geared towards those who "do the work," rather than top level executives, hopes to mirror the success of the Boston Interactive Media Association, which 212 president Brian Quinn said has the "the involvement of agencies. It wasn't just sales guys walking around and looking for jobs."
Quinn also said his group will leave the standards-making to existing bodies, such as the Interactive Advertising Bureau, with 212 focuses education, career development and socializing.
