A new social network, geared toward Baby Boomers, has made its way onto the scene. But unlike Eons, a social network catering to "50+", Boomj has a younger edge, adding online flair to a demographic it calls Generation Jones.
Generation Jones is defined as users born from 1954 to 1965, and they're not quite flower children, since they grew up in the Seventies.
According to TechCrunch, BOOMj is not only a social network; it's a lifestyle network for the Joneses with topics like financial info, health and celebrity gossip in addition to the standard social network fare.
There's also one more unique feature: an e-commerce aspect, complete with a loyalty point program. BOOMj calls itself MySpace meets Amazon.com for the over 40's.
Boomers are the largest web constituency in the US, making up a third of the 195.3 million web users.
