CNET: AOL releases Netscape update
AOL released an update to its moribund Netscape browser software, upping it to version 7.2. Lacking any significant improvement, the new browser version is most notable in that its continued dormancy seems to be inspiring Microsoft to a similar level of browser lassitude. Perhaps it's nostalgia, or perhaps Microsoft really does have everyone working on security fixes. The break in browser innovation development has given other browser efforts - some open source - a chance to catch up, if not carry the state-of-the-art further along.
