Dutch media firm VNU, owner of Nielsen measurement services and various industry trade magazines, posted increased profits for 2004, but noted that its Nielsen/NetRatings business continued to make narrowing losses on increased revenues. A PaidContent piece suggested the media giant is in one of its hungry periods, casting about for additional firms to eat.
