An informal poll conducted against MarketingVOX's own network of online marketing executives shows that the industry is indeed picking up, but at a relatively measured pace to that seen in the Internet bubble years. About ten percent of MarketingVOX's business networking club - consisting of a motley bunch of media buyers, senior net company executives and e-commerce consultants of various stripes - answered the single poll question of whether or not their firms are seeing more marketing dollars pumped through their companies. Fifty nine percent said yes, and that the increased amount was either less than 25 percent or less than 100 percent of previous spending.
An additional 12 percent said the spending was more than double or even ten times past spending. About a quarter of the respondents said the spending is deceptive, as their companies are re-gearing their products to come out in the near future with additional spending. Six percent indicated business was bad.
