NBCU Plans Digital Out-of-Home Upfront


Step right up!

On January 16, NBC Universal will stage an upfront for digital out-of-home ad placements, which include spots in supermarkets, gas station posts and taxi interiors.

It will be held in Studio 8H. About 200 media buyers and advertisers are expected.

Digital signage is forecast to generate $2.5 billion in revenue by the end of 2010, according to Carmel Group (via Advertising Age). Perhaps for that reason, senior VP Mark French of NBC Everywhere calls the presentation a "reaction to the marketplace."
