Shortcut to the heart
NBC Universal and Procter & Gamble have teamed up to launch a site for pet lovers, reports The New York Times.
Petside.com features news and information for owners of cats and dogs, as well as links to retailers where people can buy products. There will also be social networking features that allow members to connect and share tips.
Procter & Gamble will use the site to promote products like Iams pet food. NBC will highlight television programming and create original video content.
The partners will split revenue generated from the site's ads.
Right now content on the site is pulled from existing sites but the companies say they're looking into ways to create more original content, as well as expansion opps beyond the cat-and-dog sets.
