MTV will carry on-demand, post-show internet video coverage of the MTV Video Music Awards on its broadband website, MTV Overdrive, following airing this weekend, according to AdWeek (via MediaBuyerPlanner). MTV was criticized for its TV coverage of July's Live 8 charity concerts, which were shown online by AOL to rave reviews.
MTV Overdrive will include a My VMAs section allowing viewers to create their own versions of the program, and the entire Video Music Awards show will be available online for a month. Advertisers on the service include P&G, Samsonite, and Sony Pictures.
