MSN Exec: Desktop Search Will Be First 'Foray'

SearchEngineLowdown: Web 2.0 - Search Engine Execs Chat

On a panel including search executives from major firms like Yahoo, Ask Jeeves and Amazon, MSN executive Christoper Payne said that for Microsoft "desktop will be the first foray," into the search realm. Previously, industry watchers assumed that its website search developments would bow first, with the desktop search features coming along with a later, and much-delayed, upgrade to Windows. It is not clear if the remark was made figuratively, or if the foray referred was in reference only to the panel's topic of search "innovation." MarketingVOX has made queries to seek some additional clarity.
