Ad Age: Anti-Bush Ad Contest Submits Super Bowl Commercial
'Child's Pay,' the winning spot
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the online liberal political organization MoveOn.org, sponsored a contest, Bush in 30 Seconds, to find the best home-made anti-Bush ad, which it plans to air on TV. After receiving more than 1,500 entries, the organization has made its choice, "Child's Pay," submitted privately by Charlie Fisher, who is the creative director of the Copenhagen, Denmark, office of Publicis Groupe ad agency Leo Burnett.
The ad features a series of vignettes of children working in factory-type jobs, with the kicker slogan, "Guess who's going to pay off President Bush's $1 trillion deficit?"
The ad will run as part of a $300,000 CNN buy from January 17 through 21, including around Bush's January 20th State of the Union address. MoveOn is also trying to schedule the ad to run during the Super Bowl, but CBS is presently vetting the submission.
