More Anti-Spam PR From ISPs

New Media Age: Yahoo! to spearhead first European anti-spam day

Internet portal Yahoo! will be hosting Europe's first anti-spam day this month as part of its global war against junks emails.

Dunk the Junk Day will take place on 22 May and aims to raise public awareness about unsolicited commercial emailing. The day will include an awards event, giving the chance to name and shame the UK's worst spammers. A microsite contest has also been designed, to offer users a masterclass in effective emailing.

Only yesterday (see Related Post) I chimed in about ISP/portals using anti-spam rhetoric for the purpose of gaining PR. Well now Yahoo! is joining the party, with an initiative that intends to educate users about lessening the spam flow. $100 say that this idea started of in their PR agency.
