Momtourage, a New iVillage Property, Goes Live

NBC-owned iVillage has launched Momtourage, an online community formed under the premise that mothers cannot raise their children without support.

The site's debut kicks off with a sweepstakes where, by sending in their personal stories or advice, mothers can win a chance to add to their "momtourage" — their choice of a chef, a babysitter or a personal cleaner. Grand prize winners will be served dinner from a contestant from Top Chef, a TV series on Bravo.

MomTourage features include:

  • Tips on forming a baby-sitting or dining co-op
  • Tips on hosting swaps
  • Last-minute recipe and babysitting advice
  • Help for buying — or getting rid of — back-to-school clothes
  • The Snack Swapper, a tool that helps substitute junk food with nutritious fare in kids' lunchboxes
  • Thank-you cards to distribute to members of a mother's own "momtourage"
  • Information sheets to fill out and give to babysitters

Entries will be accepted for the Momtourage sweepstakes until August 1.

In May, Lauren Zalaznick of NBCU was appointed head of women and lifestyle entertainment. iVillage is one of the subsidiaries she manages.
