Mobile Search Services Coming

ClickZ: A Wave of Mobile Search

Several search-related companies are introducing mobile-oriented search products geared to handheld users. YellowPages.com, LexisNexis and SearchGuy.com all deployed search pages designed to be seen on the small screens of cell phones and other small devices.

YellowPages.com put its directories on AT&T Wireless's mMode service. SearchGuy hopes to go cross-carrier with its SearchGuy Mobile service, an application that digests actual web sites and presents them on cell phones and other devices in readable format. Meanwhile, LexisNexis created an interface allowing mobile users who already subscribe to its data services to query its enormous databases.
