Mobile Gaming Revenue Drops 9% in Q207

Gamers losing interest?

Mobile gaming revenue dropped 9 percent in Q2 of this year, according to research firm iSuppli.

The decline was a "significant blow" to the momentum the category recently enjoyed, reports Reuters.

In Q1 2007, mobile gaming revenue rose 11 percent.

iSuppli is exploring whether the drop can be attributed to the season, or whether the games simply aren't compelling enough.
Despite the drop, iSuppli continues to posit mobile gaming revenue will triple to $6.6 billion, from $2.3 billion in 2006.
